According to information from MacRumors and ifoAppleStore, Apple is encouraging its retail store employees to enter in map corrections as a way to improve the company’s beleaguered Maps application. The rumored program would use store employees, who would manually check map data and send corrections to Apple using an internal Apple portal. Sources for MacRumors suggest this program would dedicate 40 hours each week per store to this initiative. Details are sparse on how the store would execute this plan, but it could involve a coordinated team of  employees who work under a designated “subject matter expert.” The expert would reportedly receive training to oversee this maps improvement program.
