Several circulating rumors suggest Google is preparing to add Street View to the mobile version of Google Maps. The rumor first surfaced last week at the New York Times, and both AllThingsD and Search Engine Land later corroborated the report. According to the reports, Google will launch the mobile Street View service on Thursday and make it available to all mobile browsers.

For Android users, this is not a significant change as they have the native Google Maps application on their handsets. iOS users, though, should be thrilled as Google is giving them their Street View back. It won’t be the same as using Street View in a native app, but having the feature in a mobile browser is better than not having it at all.
