Sony Odin is the upcoming Android beast phone with 5-inch 1080p screen and quad-core processor

Looks like Sony is preparing to beef-up its mobile game next year when apparently the rumored Odin smartphone will be unveiled. From what we’re hearing, it will announced in early 2013 boasting Qualcomm’s quad-core S4 Pro processor, 5-inch 1080p screen and 2GB of RAM. In other words, it could easily get the Japanese company back to the map as a serious contender in the “smartphone wars.”

The information comes from this thread at Esato forums and PhoneArena believes there’s some truth in here, justifying the claim with the fact that such screen panels (5-inch 1080p) should enter the full-scale production soon. Japan Display — which is a joint venture between Sony, Toshiba and Hitachi — will make the screen, so it’s easy to imagine that one of the founding members could be among the first clients.

But the rumor doesn’t stop here, as it is said that a bigger, 6-inch device with similar specs will follow shortly afterwards. Can’t wait for the 2013 CES. ;)

Sony has a long way to go before anyone will take them serious in android land. It will take much more than rumored device. Sony is Lg in my mind both are useless…

Sony needs to make sure they have at least a 3000 or more mah removable battery and sd slot. This seems like a good idea, but what are they going to deliver, really when the time comes. I would like to see that 6 inch phone for sure.
