No surprise here – The Apple iPad Mini has officially been revealed today, and it’s easy to assume that this will soon be one of the hottest devices on the market for the holiday season. Alongside the 4th generation iPad, the iPad Mini is the perfect filler device between your iPhone and larger iPad.
Weighing a little over a half a pound, and thinner than a pencil, the iPad Mini is definitely something to admire. Don’t expect a Retina display on this bad boy, as it’s rocking the same resolution screen as the iPad 2 (1024 x 768). You can expect the Mini to come in white and black and in a sexy aluminum shell that we’ve come to expect from the company.
While we have our doubts that the likes of the Nexus 7 or Kindle Fire are going anywhere anytime soon, the iPad Mini is certainly going to tame sales of both devices, even with a higher price point. Starting at $329, the iPad Mini will most definitely sell like hotcakes this year, but the decision might be a little hard considering that you can still grab the iPad 2 for $399. We really do with that Apple would have brought the price down for the Mini, but we’re sure most people will just blindly throw money out for one. Nothing wrong with that.
At the end of the day, the iPad Mini is exactly that. A smaller iPad. It’s not as magical as Apple is saying it is, but that certainly doesn’t make us want one any less.
