Samsung has officially announced the much–rumored Galaxy Premier smartphone in Ukraine. The device that sits somewhere between the Galaxy S II and Galaxy S III packs a Galaxy Nexus-like 4.65-inch HD Super AMOLED screen (1280×720 pixels), TI’s dual-core OMAP 4470 processor clocked at 1.5GHz, 1GB of RAM, 8-megapixel rear-facing camera, 1.9-megapixel front-facing one, Wi-Fi, HSPA+ and/or LTE, GPS, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC, 8 or 16 GB of built-in storage, while Android 4.1 Jelly Bean is running the show.
Samsung will start selling the Galaxy Premier in Ukraine at some point in December for 5555 UAH, which is roughly $679. Kinda steep when you think about it. That said, we expect major European operators to pick up the phone and offer it for free on two-year contracts. We’ll let you know when we hear something new on that front…
