One of the hottest features of the Samsung Galaxy Note II is the ability to run two apps in the same window, the capability that’s made possible thanks to phablet’s big 5.5-inch screen. The same feature will soon be launched for the Galaxy S III, as part of the upcoming Android 4.1.2 update which will apparently be released by the end of this year.

As far as I can tell, 4.8-inch screen still has a lot of room to accommodate another app and as a result, you will be able to watch some video while chatting with your buddies on IM networks. Pretty cool, but wait – there’s more. The split screen mode for the Gallery app will also be included as part of the firmware version bump, allowing you to see albums/folders on the left, and their content on the right side of the screen. Again, just like on the Note II. Sweet.
