Samsung seems to have problems launching the Ativ S by the end of this year. We’re not sure whether it’s lack of the Korean company’s commitment toward Microsoft’s platform to blame for this or something else. In any case, as far as North America is considered, Sammy’s flagship Windows Phone 8 device may only hit Canada this year, with US getting it at some point next year. Rogers is Samsung’s “partner in crime” and from what we’ve understood, it will start accepting orders tomorrow. An ad we’ve got shows the Ativ S sitting alongside Nokia Lumia 920 and HTC 8X, all of which are/will be available from Rogers Wireless.

In the UK, interested users can already grab the 16GB model for 459.99 GBP (Expansys link) and it should also be available through O2 and Three, as well as third-party phone retailers. We’ll be keeping our eye on the Ativ S and get back to you as soon as we have something new to add…
