Samsung is apparently getting ready to launch another member of its Galaxy series. The rumored Galaxy Grand DUOS (we guess a single-SIM version will also be released) may be unveiled in January 2013, sporting some rather unimpressive specs.

From what we’ve heard, it will have a huge 5-inch screen that will unfortunately show WVGA (800×480 pixels) resolution. Rest of the specs will include a dual- or quad-core processor, 3G+ (HSPA) and Wi-Fi connectivity, and of course the ability to sing along two different networks at once.

And while we’re not sure what’s the point of a big screen with such low resolution, Samsung’s idea is to make these kind of (huge) devices available to more users who don’t necessarily want to/can spend a small fortune on the Galaxy S III or Galaxy Note II. Perhaps they’re onto something, perhaps not. We’ll have to wait for few more weeks to get some answers…
