Rumor: Samsung prepping 6.3″ Galaxy Note III for 2013 launch

Samsung Galaxy Note II hits 3 million units sold worldwide

The times, they are a’changin'; the phones, they are a’growin’. Or so it goes with the smartphone/tablet hybrid market.

Initially, we thought Samsung’s 5.5″ Galaxy Note II was huge, though that size was easily eclipsed by the rumored 6.1″ Huawei Ascend and a 6″ device from Sony. A rumor out of the Korean Times this morning suggests that Samsung itself may be embracing a supersized display for the Galaxy Note III, which the company is prepping for a 2013 launch. According to the report, the Note III will come with a 6.3″ OLED display, giving users significantly higher screen real estate compared to the Note II, and that it’ll likely come with a 1080p resolution and (hopefully) a larger battery to provide enough juice to power the screen.

Time will tell whether such a phone would actually become a reality, though one trend is absolutely clear. The days of holding your phone with one hand is over, should Android and Windows Phone manufacturers have anything to say about it.

Huawei, Sony, and Lg started this war thinking they can compete with the Galaxy Note 2 in the first place. Now Samsung is out too simply BLOW THE DOORS off of anyone faking to challenge in this space. Software alone as well as features Samsung Galaxy Note 2 shits on anything ever made. The Galaxy Note 2 is the best productivity/all purpose device ever and clearly the Galaxy Note 3 will be the best in 2013. 4100 battery, 6.3 inch screen, 1080p, 16meg camera, 3gb of ram, 2.2ghz Exynos 5 processor, 128gb of storage. Case closed here folks. I will be purchasing the Galaxy Note 3 straight up cash in 2013 you can count on that.

And I’ll be laughing when you’re proved wrong.
      1. It’s not a 16 *meg* camera. It’s either “megapixel” or “MP” for short. No one needs a 16 MP camera, not to mention that above 10 MP, it’s basically the quality of the camera sensor that decides quality of the photos, not the number of MP’s. Anything over 12 or so is overkill and quite stupid. Just flashy little words for idiots like you to gobble up thinking it’s “better”.
      2. There’s absolutely no need for 3 GB of RAM. Heck, there’s barely any need for 2 GB of RAM. More RAM just means you can have more applications running simultaneously. Yet another flashly little gimmick for idiots like you to fawn and “OMG” over.
      3. By the time the Note 3 comes around, every other major manufacturer will have at least one phone with a 1080p screen already out. Heck, HTC already does and LG will have one soon.
