Acer is working on a new low-cost Android tablet which as far as we can tell will cost some $150 or less. The still unannounced Iconia B1 has been caught at the FCC and from its listing at the Commission’s website we learn that it will support cellular connectivity (at least the version FCC got to play with). In addition, we know that Acer’s baby will also sport a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, 7-inch 1024×600 pixels screen, 512MB of RAM, 8GB of built-in storage, GPS, Bluetooth 4.0, microSD memory card slot, while Android 4.1 Jelly Bean will run the show.

However, we’ve no idea when will Acer officially announce the Iconia B1 though with CES coming in just a few weeks, it’s likely the Taiwanese company will use the attention it gets at the big event to show the world some new products. Hopefully, they’ll also unveil other, higher-end devices at that time. We’ll see…

If they got it under $100, I could finally see my way to getting a tablet.
