Remember TransPhone, the device that we described as poor man’s Padfone? It’s been update with the new Pro model boasting slightly improved specs, including the higher resolution phone screen (960×540 instead of 800×480 pixels, both 3.5-inch ones), and tablet screen (1024×600 instead of 800×480 pixels). In addition, there’s a faster 1GHz dual-core processor under the hood (versus 800MHz the original TransPhone has), as well as 1GB of RAM, 4GB of built-in storage, while Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich (rather than Gingerbread) is running the show.
As for the price, the TransPhone Pro is now available for pre-order for $239.99 with first shipments beginning in late March or early April. At that time, the company expects the price to go up to $299 so if you need a device like this, perhaps you should preorder your unit now. If you want to do that, hop over to this website where you’ll get all the details…
