Looks like Huawei can’t bear that some other smartphone wears the “world’s thinnest smartphone” badge and plans to do something to de-throne the newly announced Alcatel One Touch Idol Ultra. According to Engadget, the Chinese company is preparing to unveil a successor to the Ascend P1 S next month, most likely from the floor of Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.
We don’t have all the details at the moment, but we’re hearing that the upcoming phone will rock an aluminum body rather than one made out of plastic. Moreover, I would guess it will be on par with high-end feature set current superphones boast, meaning it will have a full HD screen, 2GB of RAM, quad-core processor, 13-megapixel camera on the back and so on. Needless to say, we expect Android 4.1 Jelly Bean to run the show right from the get-go. We’ll let you know as soon as we hear something new on this. Stay tuned in the meantime…
