Huawei isn’t just refreshing its smartwatch line this year. It’s making a case that it belongs in the same conversation as the best wearables out there. The Watch 6 series is now official globally, and the headline isn’t the specs sheet. It’s the fact that Huawei has built its first fully ceramic watch. That’s not a small thing.
What you’re actually getting with the Watch 6 and Watch 6 Pro
As reported by Gizmochina, the Watch 6 series comes in two sizes, and the Pro tier takes things further in the materials department. The 46mm Pro Space Edition has a black ceramic bezel with gold accents. The 43mm Pro, though, is the real flex. Huawei made the entire body from Nano-Tech Ceramic, making it the first fully ceramic watch in its lineup. So if you want to wear something that looks more like a luxury piece than a fitness band, the Pro is it.
The standard Watch 6 isn’t exactly boring either. Huawei is calling it the lightest smartwatch it has ever made, which matters if you’re someone who actually sleeps with your watch on for sleep tracking purposes.
The health tracking got a real upgrade, not just a marketing bump
Health features are where Huawei has been quietly building something interesting. The Watch 6 series uses an upgraded X-TAP sensor that now tracks 11 health metrics, up from 10 on the Watch 5. That might sound like a minor jump, but the coverage is actually solid.
- Basic health monitoring
- Endocrine health tracking
- Cardiovascular metrics
- Respiratory health data
- Sleep, mood, and exercise tracking
- New Diet clover, completing the four-leaf-clover daily health model
That four-leaf-clover model now covers exercise, sleep, mood, and diet. It’s a cleaner way to think about your overall daily routine instead of just staring at a heart rate graph. The Health Glance feature is still there for a quick summary of all of it.
Smart features that actually solve real problems
Beyond health, Huawei added a wrist-rotation gesture so you can navigate the watch one-handed without awkwardly tapping the screen. It also supports eSIM, so you can leave your phone at home. And there’s a Safety Check feature that shares your real-time location with family members, which is genuinely useful for solo runners, hikers, or anyone who wants an extra layer of reassurance.
Fitness tracking covers more than 100 workout modes, and Pro owners also get access to the Expedition app. Every Watch 6 model ships with MultiPass, which includes three months of Huawei Health+ and up to 90 days of free access to apps like Headspace and komoot. Buyers also get two years of Worry-Free Care covering the display, battery, back cover, and crown. That’s a solid value package that makes the asking price easier to swallow.
Price and when you can buy it
In the UK, the Huawei Watch 6 starts at £399.99 and the Watch 6 Pro starts at £599.99. Both go on sale September 23 through the Huawei Store and Amazon. Buy before October 26 and you get £50 off the asking price, so there’s a clear incentive to move quickly.
At £400 for the base model, Huawei is competing directly with the Samsung Galaxy Watch and Apple Watch SE tier. The Pro at £600 is pitching itself against far more premium territory. But if the ceramic build and expanded health platform hold up in real-world use, that price isn’t outrageous. We’ll see when reviews start dropping after launch.
