Topeka Capital analyst Brian White is spearheading a new round of iPad and iPad mini rumors with his recent claim that Apple is poised to release new models in March.

According to White, Apple will start selling a lighter and thinner iPad 5 and a souped up iPad mini this Spring. He write in a note to investors,

“Our checks at CES indicate Apple will release the iPad 5 and the second-generation iPad mini this March. The iPad 5 is expected to be lighter and thinner than the iPad 4 that was released in October, while the form factor of the iPad mini should be similar to the first generation iPad mini that debuted in October.”

Earlier rumors suggest the iPad mini may be updated to included a retina display. Though many reviewers were pleased with the iPad mini form factor when it launched last year, most were disappointed with the non-retina display.
