Straight from Apple’s supply chain is a wild rumor that suggests Apple is working on a new iPhone model. Previous rumors claim that Apple has a less expensive iPhone mini in the works, while the latest one ups the ante with the idea that Apple is working on an oversized phone.

The unsubstantiated report in China Times claims Apple is working on an iPhone with a 4.8-inch screen. The phone has the codename “iPhone Math” and will likely debut with an 8-megapixel camera. The same sources also claim Apple will have an iPhone with a 12-megapixel camera by the end of the year.

Though the latter notion is very likely, I am skeptical that Apple would produce such a large phone and codename with such an unusual name. Apple is all about user experience and, though a 5-inch phone is striking to see, it’s not exactly the easiest to hold and use on a daily basis. That’s just my opinion, though. There are probably billions of 4.8 inch and larger phones out there which indicates consumers are quite happy to hold and use them…even Apple would probably have noticed by now.

Honestly let’s be serious APPLE will never have an 4.8 inch iphone. I can’t help but laugh as i type this from my industry leading Galaxy Note 2. By the time a 4.8 inch iphone ever happens i will have my upcoming Galaxy Note 3 at 6.3 inches then the Galaxy Note 4 at 6.8 inches. The iphone is boring and dull very useless.

Some of us are 6’4″ or taller with big hands. And we may even be getting older and need larger screens for ease of viewing. Picture Shaquille O’Neal holding an iPhone 4 and a Galaxy Note. Which one do you think he could navigate better? because companies are making larger phones doesn’t mean everyone has to like them. Get a grip people. They will still sell baby phones for baby hands.
