Straight from Apple’s supply chain is a wild rumor that suggests Apple is working on a new iPhone model. Previous rumors claim that Apple has a less expensive iPhone mini in the works, while the latest one ups the ante with the idea that Apple is working on an oversized phone.
The unsubstantiated report in China Times claims Apple is working on an iPhone with a 4.8-inch screen. The phone has the codename “iPhone Math” and will likely debut with an 8-megapixel camera. The same sources also claim Apple will have an iPhone with a 12-megapixel camera by the end of the year.
Though the latter notion is very likely, I am skeptical that Apple would produce such a large phone and codename with such an unusual name. Apple is all about user experience and, though a 5-inch phone is striking to see, it’s not exactly the easiest to hold and use on a daily basis. That’s just my opinion, though.
