T-Mobile wants to make NFC “a reality” in 2013

T-Mobile USA is working with a number of partners to bring “a variety of NFC technologies to market,” according to a blog post written by senior vice president of product management, Brad Duea. From the same article we learn about the plan to bring contactless payments to a mainstream consumer and make “NFC a reality in 2013.”

Brad mentioned US bank Chase as a partner with which T-Mobile is currently working. The same bank is also one of those who committed to the Isis mobile wallet project, alongside American Express and Capital One.

Looking back at 2012, Duea noticed the expansion of NFC technology in a number of smartphones such as the Samsung Galaxy S III, Google Nexus 4, HTC Windows Phone 8X, Nokia Lumia 810, Samsung Galaxy Note II, Samsung Galaxy S Relay 4G and Samsung Galaxy S II…
