Looks like Samsung will soon release a special version of the Galaxy Premier in its own backyard. It is said that the upcoming device will be known as Galaxy Pop and feature a quad-core (rather than dual-core) processor. By now we got used to seeing the electronics giant releasing improved versions of select devices in South Korea with both the Galaxy Grand and Galaxy S III getting such treatment.

Anyway, the phone identified as SHV-E220, will apparently be launched in February, sporting an 1.4GHz Exynos 4412 quad-core CPU, 4.65-inch HD Super AMOLED screen, 4G/3G and Wi-Fi connectivity, T-DMB mobile TV, 8 or 16 GB of internal memory, and a pair of cameras (8MP on the back, 2MP front-facing one). Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean will run the show from the get-go.

All three major South Korean carriers — including SK Telecom, KT and LG U+ — will apparently offer the Galaxy Pop, though the price is still unknown.
