LG Hong Kong announced via Facebook that three smartphones announced last year — including the Optimus 4X HD, Optimus L9 and Optimus L7 — will all get Jelly Bean updates soon. Sure enough, these are Asian versions of the L7 and L9 (model numbers P765 and P705), but other versions sold around the world will most likely follow shortly afterwards… or even get the new Android release before users in Hong Kong do.

The time is vaguely set at the first half of the year and we’re sure additional details will be released shortly. Heck, I wouldn’t be surprised to get a press release from LG during Mobile World Congress in Barcelona announcing the updates. But we hope to get something better from the Korean company – a press release announcing their next-gen devices with quad-core processors and big screens. Can’t wait to land in Barcelona…
