Galaxy Note 8.0 Accidentally Leaked?

We’ve got a fresh sighting of what could be the Samsung Galaxy 8.0 during the announcement of a new color option for the Galaxy Note 10.1 LTE in South Korea. The device, which is slightly obscured by a giant chef’s hat, looks at first glance like the Galaxy Note 2.But upon further inspection, the device bears more resemblance to the leaked photos and renders of the Samsung Galaxy 8.0 we’ve previously seen.

The reason we think it’s the above pictured device is the Galaxy 8.0 and not another Samsung device?  The device clearly has on-screen home and back buttons, which are present on the Galaxy Note 10.1, but absent from the Galaxy Note 2 smartphone. Also, the timing of MWC and the leak is of interest, as Samsung could have accidentally used images destined for MWC. Or maybe they wanted to feed the rumor mill?

The Samsung Galaxy 8.0 rumors have been floating around for some time now, and this new device is hotly anticipated to be shown at MWC in Barcelona this year. The Samsung Galaxy 8.0 is rumored to be coming in three different versions, one with wi-fi only, one with Wi-Fi and 3G, and one with 3G, 4G (LTE) and Wi-Fi.It is also rumored to be sporting an 8-inch Super Clear LCD display with 1280×800 resolution, 2GB of RAM, 16 or 32GB of internal storage,Bluetooth 4.0 and Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, a 5-megapixel primary camera and a 1.3-megapixel secondary camera, and will be powered by Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. With specs like these, Samsung could very well give the iPad mini a run for its money.
