Looks like Apple is gearing towards signing a deal with China Mobile to bring its iPhone to the world’s biggest mobile operator. According to Patently Apple, China Mobile is about to start testing its TD-LTE network in more than 100 cities across China in an effort to bring 4G mobile Internet to more than half a billion people.
At the same time, Apple is said to be looking to get new chips from Qualcomm which will add global LTE connectivity to the future iPhones. Presuming the Cupertino-based company opts for this solution, they’ll be able to offer it to China Mobile’s vast customer base, setting a stage for another (and another) record-breaking quarter.
One thing is certain – the two giants have already tried to reach an arrangement and with the next iPhone possibly singing along all possible LTE frequencies such a deal seems one step closer… or so we think. What do you say?
