Here it is. The moment you’ve all been waiting for. Or maybe not. Either way, Zuck’s new Facebook Home launcher has just gone live on the Google Play Store, allowing owners of the Samsung Galaxy S III, Galaxy Note 2, HTC One X and One X+ to play with the new Facebook interface. The Galaxy S4 and the HTC One will also be able to run the software, though we’re still getting a “device not compatible” warning on our international HTC One.
Facebook Home is essentially a launcher that hijacks your phone and turns it into an all-encompassing Facebook device. Cover feed is a feature that places your friends status and posts in the center of your screen, and Chat Heads is essentially a redesigned Messenger that displays a floating chat window when using other apps.
Facebook’s Messenger app for Android was updated this morning with the Chat Head feature, which is available for any device that can run the Facebook Messenger app.
If you have a Facebook Home compatible device and want to try it out, head to the Google Play Store to download it and tell us your thoughts!
