According to Bloomberg and Reuters, MetroPCS shareholders voted today on the proposed merger with T-Mobile and approved the deal. The merger has received approval from the FCC and the Department of Justice and was given the green light by the board of directors from both companies.
The deal could close in the first half of this year and will bring 9 million new customers to T-Mobile. T-Mobile will also get access to MetroPCS’s regional cellular network, which will help the carrier as it builds out its 4G LTE network.
