Just when we told you that Sony may unveil its Togari phablet later this month in Germany, we’ve learned that once announced it will be known as Xperia ZU. The “Z” part means it’s part of Sony’s high-end series whereas “U” could stand for “Ultra” or “Ultimate,” we’re not sure.
In any case, we’re looking forward to see the Japanese giant entering the big phone race, which is still dominated by Samsung and its Galaxy Note II. Other contenders include LG’s Optimus G Pro and Huawei’s Ascend Mate.
From what we’ve heard, the Xperia ZU will rock a full HD screen, fast quad-core processor (Snapdragon 600 or perhaps 800?), 8- or 13-megapixel Exmor RS camera, 2GB of RAM and a ton of built-in storage. We’re also hoping that it will also rock a water-proof body like the Xperia Z and Xperia ZR, helping Sony differentiate its product from the rest of the pack… More to come, obviously.
