There’s no doubt that Asphalt 8: Airborne is a super fun Android game, easily one of the most impressive racing titles to date. This game gets crazy, allowing for some intense ramp launches, barrel rolls and mid-air stunts. The game is fun to play on a tablet, but the die-hard old-man gamer in me wants a physical controller I can use to pull off crazy stunts and zip past opponents at blinding speed.
You can guess how excited I was when a little birdie told me that Asphalt 8: Airborne is optimized for NVIDIA’s new piece of awesome, the Shield. The Shield’s dual joysticks provide a superior racing experience, and the Tegra 4 processor puts the games graphics into beast mode. Playing Asphalt 8: Airborne on the Shield not only afforded me better controls, but cleaner graphics with no lag.
So Shield owners, head over to the Play Store now and check out Asphalt 8: Airborne and see for yourself. It’ll be the best $1 you’ve ever spent.
