TCL, which owns the Alcatel brand, announced two new phones, One Touch Fierce and One Touch Evolve, both of which will soon be available through T-Mobile USA.
The first of the two is a mid-range device packing a 4.5-inch qHD screen, MediaTek’s 1.2GHz quad-core processor, LTE connectivity support and Android 4.2 platform. On the other hand, the One Touch Evolve is an entry-level smartphone with MediaTek’s slower MT6575 chipset clocked at 1GHz and Android 4.1.
Both devices are touted to offer an “easy, out-of-box experience” with pre-loaded apps such as Nuance’s Swype keyboard, and pre-configured home screens with the most essential apps and widgets.
“The ONE TOUCH Fierce and ONE TOUCH Evolve are compelling smartphone options that fit several types of consumer lifestyles, while eliminating the need to make a choice between looks, performance and price,” said Steve Cistulli, Senior VP of North America for ALCATEL ONE TOUCH.
The Fierce and Evolve will be available at select national retail stores beginning October 5. Starting October 14, the One Touch Evolve will go on pre-sale on T-Mobile.com, and then on October 16 at T-Mobile retail stores and select dealers. The Fierce will be available through participating T-Mobile retail stores, select dealers and online at www.T-Mobile.com beginning October 23. There won’t be any pre-sales for the Fierce.
With T-Mobile’s Simple Choice Plan, the One Touch Evolve will be $27.99 down with 24 monthly device payments of $3, while the One Touch Fierce will be $19.99 down with 24 equal monthly device payments of $6 (plus taxes and fees).
