Android users can rejoice today as a new Netflix update rolling out slowly to devices as we speak. Version 3.0 supposedly fixes many of the issues people couldn’t stand about the app in the past, namely the laggy user interface and streaming. What Netflix customers can now expect on the new Android application is a revamped UI, and what looks to be a slide-out navigation panel on the left.
In addition the new Netflix app brings some pretty cool lock screen controls when streaming to Chromecast, and the usual performance enhancements tweaks. Of course, the cosmetic changes are welcomed, but the lock screen improvements is just of those small things that make huge difference in usability. Not having the playback control take over the entire screen, is definitely a pleasant adjustment many folks will enjoy.
Now that the app is fixed, it’ll actually be usable for many of you who’ve complained about all this time. We’re not sure when the new Netflix v3.0 app will hit the Play Store, but you can either obsessively check for it in the store, or grab the APK from the source link below.
