Sony Xperia Tianchi with 6-inch screen and MediaTek's octa-core chip in works?

Looks like Sony will be making another phone with MediaTek’s chip. After the affordable Xperia C, the Japanese company may be working on the so Xperia Tianchi, which will likely be sold in China and other emerging markets.

According to Chinese website MyDrivers, the upcoming device will rock a 6-inch screen and MediaTek’s MT6592 octa-core processor. As far as we’ve understood, this chip isn’t as fast as Qualcomm’s top-end Snapdragon 800, but it does come with some performance improvements compared to MediaTek’s current quad-core CPUs.

So in a way, this could be a poor man’s Xperia Z Ultra, which will keep its Premium allure for folks willing to pay a premium for a (powerful) phablet.

It is said that the Sony Xperia Tianchi might be officially introduced at an event on November 12. At that time, we may also get to see the Xperia Z1 f, which is a mini version of the Xperia Z1, the company’s current flagship device…

Note to Sony…if u gonna make big phones pls pls pls at least eliminate most of the bezels. If they could put a 5″ screen on a device as compact as Xperia ZL sure they could do the same with a 5.5″ or 6″ screen device. These phones are getting too big as it is even for big hands…so OEMs PLEASE GET OFF THE HUGE BEZEL TRAIN.
