During a conference today mostly aimed at Google+ improvements, Google announced some big changes to its Hangouts app, bringing some changes that we’ve been waiting on for some time.
SMS is now integrated into the Hangouts app, giving Hangouts users the option of sending and receiving text messages through the app, similar to the way Facebook Messenger functions.
Other updates include location sharing, HD video and full screen options while having a Hangout video chat. Hangouts now also supports animated GIFs, which will allow users to swap funny animations amongst each other.
The Hangouts update has not gone live yet, but will be hitting devices in the next few days.
