Motorola unleashed the Moto X’s little sibling, the Moto G in Brazil today. The affordable smartphone is essentially a stripped down version of the Moto X, and will be receiving Android 4.4 KitKat by January. At the announcement speech this morning, Dennis Woodside, the CEO of Motorola Mobility let slip a juicy detail about the Moto X.
The Moto X will be receiving Android 4.4 KitKat “in a matter of weeks” according to Woodside. This is rather vague, but that’s awesome news for Moto X owners who want the latest Android software. Woodside made no mention of which carriers would begin the KitKat rollout process, so we’ll have to wait and see on that one. But it’s safe to assume that Verizon customers will be receiving the update later than other carriers, as is usually the case.
So just a few weeks, Moto X owners. In the meantime, check out the Moto G video below and check out the newest addition to the Moto line. Are you excited about the KitKat update? Let us know in the comments.
