The Motorola Moto G Google Play Edition is now available through the Google Play Store. That’s right, the phone no one asked for Moto G GPE can now be yours for only $179.99.
Available in 8GB and 16GB versions, the latter running for $199, the Moto G Google Play Edition is a decent device at an incredibly low price. The Moto G was also made available online for Boost Mobile today, making it a good day in Moto G world.
While hardly up to snuff with a majority of Android handsets today, we’re willing to be that the Moto G will find its way into quite a few hands. Getting a smartphone price down to that of a carrier subsidized handset is impressive enough, even if the specs aren’t high-end, and will appeal to a lot of people who don’t want to spend a lot on a new smartphone or be on a two-year contract.
The Moto G ships with a 4.5 inch 720p HD display, 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 CPU, 1GB RAM, 8 GB ROM, 5 megapixel camera, and more. With the Moto G, users can also change the back plate to customize it to a color of their liking.
The Moto G may be best suited for a first time smartphone buyer or younger person, given the great price. Hell, at that price you can probably afford a few backup Moto G handsets, too.
