“The Internet of things” is a phrase you’ve probably been hearing over and over during the last year or so. But what exactly is it? A new infographic aims to help us make sense of the confusing term.
With the rise of wearable technologies such as Google Glass and a variety of smartwatches and fitness trackers, the term “the internet of things” has entered the mainstream lexicon. The term refers to the plethora of devices which can communicate and share data with each other, and how the devices interact and ultimately make our lives a little easier. While household smart devices such as refrigerators, blenders, smoke detectors and security systems are still quite expensive and not widely adopted, it will not be long before everything inside and outside of our homes will be talking to one another.
