The long-time rumored HTC One M8 Ace has been officially announced and it has a new name – One E8. As we’ve heard before, this phone has all the bells and whistles of the One M8 minus the Ultrapixel camera. Instead, it rocks a rather standard 13-megapixel sensor.
Another downside (compared to the “regular” M8) comes in the form of materials used to build the One E8. Unlike the M8 which has an aluminum body, this model has a body made out of plastic.
These two facts alone should ensure a lower price tag, making the E8 that much more affordable.
Rest of the specs are unchanged and include a 5-inch full HD screen, Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of expandable storage and so on.
HTC will start selling the E8 in Russia and parts of Asia later this month. Price is still unknown, but we’re guessing the unlocked unit won’t cost more than $600, probably even less… though you never know. The smartphone will be available in few “bold, stylish colors.”
