Motorola secured trademark for the Moto Maxx name, which we tend to think will be device with a massive battery that could provide enough juice to keep the phone running for full two days. Or something of that sort.
The American handset maker, now part of the Lenovo Group, is already offering the “Maxx smartphone” but that’s the DROID Maxx which is available from Verizon Wireless, only. The Moto Maxx — without the DROID name — sounds like something every carrier would offer, not just the Big Red one.
As I’m writing this, we’re clueless what this phone will be all about. Perhaps it’s just a thicker version of the Moto X, where the extra thickness is used to accommodate the bigger battery, or it could be a version of the upcoming Moto X+1. We’ll keep our ears on the street and let you know as soon as we have something new to add. Stay tuned in the meantime, k?
