$100 price-cut on 16GB iPhone on the horizon; 8GB iPhone to be discontinued soon?

iPhone price cuts again/In true Apple form, we’re hearing through the grapevine that Apple may be planning to slash prices on its iPhone handset again. This time, the price-cut will be affecting the newly released 16GB iPhone and may coincide with the discontinuation of the 8GB iPhone.

If you’ll recall, Apple slashed the price of the 8GB iPhone some months ago while discontinuing the 4GB iPhone, so this rumor sounds right down Apple’s alley. Unfortunately for current 8GB iPhone owners, this means that they’ll be left with a dinosaur of an iPhone.

We’re all crossing our fingers in hopes that Apple won’t shun iPhone customers again with another price-drop and handset discontinuation. Twice in a 12-month period probably won’t go over all that well with current iPhone owners.
