To catch-up with its rival – KDDI, NTT DoCoMo is launching a new offering to permit its i-mode customers to download an unlimited number of full-length songs for a fixed monthly fee of around 2,000 yen ($16.77) a month. Contrary to DoCoMo’s all-you-can-eat plan, KDDI sells full-length songs on per download basis via its popular Chaku Uta service.
The new flat-rate service will be available for new DoCoMo handsets installed with special software that go on sale from May. I guess some the carrier will release some software update for existing handsets. (via: MobileEntertainment)
