Motorola pledges CTIA Wireless 2009 attendance

Remember when we told you that Motorola was rumored to be skipping out on the largest US wireless tradeshow this coming Spring? Right, well we take it back. Motorola has confirmed that they will indeed be showing up at CTIA Wireless 2009 in Las Vegas, with two booths, no less. We’re still waiting on more details on Motorola’s plan to slash their handset division, but it’s good to hear that Motorola will be doing their best to show the world that the struggling cellphone manufacturer is still alive and kicking.

Unfortunately, we can’t see Motorola showcasing anything more exciting than the Motorola AURA (a handset we’ve come to actually love) at the CTIA Wireless 2009 show. Motorola’s reported pull-out from one of the world’s largest wireless conventions cast a huge shadow on Motorola’s future as a viable player on the global mobile-stage, so it’s good to see that Motorola is sticking with their convention show plans.
