Mobile phones can already take amazing pictures (and video), surf the web at high speed, play all sorts of high-def media, and even help keep you fit. So, what’s next? Mobile phones with projectors – projector-phones, if you will – might just catch on as the next big thing in the enterprise market. Projector-phones like the Samsung W7900 “Show” prove that pico-projectors in mobile phones can actually perform decently well in the real world.
The Samsung Show W7900 sports a 3.2-inch OLED display, 5 megapixel camera, 3G data connection, front-facing VGA video-call camera, TV tuner, and of course that integrated pico-projector. All that crammed into a body not much thicker than any of today’s media-monster handsets, now that’s impressive. Be it Slide presentations or videos, the Samsung Show can actually throw a picture up on a wall even with the lights on. Sure, the projector only warms up to 10 lumens worth of bright-power, but in a dark room the projected picture looks surprisingly bright.
The video below from PopSci.com shows the Samsung Show doing what it was made to do.
