Samsung Omnia HD video overview – Live from Mobile World Congress 2009

There’s just no substitute for in-hand video walk-throughs. No amount of summarizing specs and in-hand photos can match the power of a few minutes worth of hands-on video. That said, the Samsung Omnia HD impressed us with its quarter-HD resolution capacitance touchscreen and 8-megapixel camera. We’re huge fans of capacitance-based touchscreens, so it’s refreshing to see Samsung joining the list of mobile phone makers embracing the next-generation touchscreen tech. And, with the ability to record 720p HD videos, the Samsung Omnia HD delivers on its namesake. Video record smoothly and with little delay from camera start-up to live recording.

The first video below demonstrates the Omnia HD’s video-recording and video-playback capabilities. We also take a look at the LED flash’s intensity in fairly bright ambient lighting conditions. The second video is a quick-and-dirty look at the Samsung Omnia HD and its capacitance touchscreen, which allows for a smooth and enjoyable experience with the updated TouchWIZ UI.

Enjoy!
