Klausner cleans up with another patent-suit settlement from LG

The once-obscure patent firm Klausner Technologies has made a lucrative name for itself by going after the likes of Apple, AT&T, Sprint and Verizon Wireless for their respective uses of Visual Voicemail technology – a technology to which Klausner lays claim. Klausner has already settled their suits against the iPhone-selling duo and the No. 1 US wireless carrier, and has just wrapped-up settlement negotiations with LG and Google.

LG’s use of Visual Voicemail (VVM) on handsets like the LG Versa has forced the mobile phone maker to license the VVM technology from Klausner. “We are pleased announce LG as a Visual Voicemail licensee under our US and international VVM patents. Our patented technology, lets consumers view, prioritize and select voice messages from their mobile phones screens,” said Judah Klausner, CEO of Klausner Technologies.

Visual Voicemail allows a user to visually see voicemail messages as if they were left in an email inbox. The messages are usually listed chronologically and displays caller information. It’s the new way to do voicemail. As long as you pay Klausner…
