Scalado‘s new CAPS imaging software, announced at the Smartphone Show, has a number of impressive feature modules. One of the key features include AutoRama, which provides stunning panorama effects on a mobile phone, without compromising on image quality. Scalado’s software features a smart stitching technology, which sews numerous images together in order to create a single, specialised photograph in a click of a button on the handset. The result is a perfect panoramic photograph that is produced automatically and within seconds.

Previously, there have been attempts from other developers to provide panorama solutions on a mobile phone, but this is the first one that combines high resolution quality and simplicity of use, where even fiddly shots are made easy. The software is extremely user-friendly, and tracks the camera’s movements as the user pans from side to side.

AutoRama allows you to take 10 high-resolution images in succession and features 8 different stitching modes, enabling user to create personal photographs for every view and every occasion. The software automatically stitches the high-resolution images together to meet the desired size of photograph. With Autorama users are given the unique opportunity to view and pan over the ready panorama images instantly. The software offers simple processing and lets anyone create soaring skyscrapers, vast landscapes or city skylines in one single photograph, without any digital imaging expertise.

The secret behind AutoRama is Scalado’s patented RAJPEG technology, a JPEG codec-based technology that reduces memory requirements. The RAJPEG processes JPEG input and output images in the compressed domain, which enable the viewing of any region of a JPEG image without the need to access the previous parts of the image. Furthermore, RAJPEG rapidly reduces the amount of RAM memory required by a factor of 25x while still processing full resolution images, and increases performance and the speed for image manipulation by a factor of up to 10x.
