Italian railway, Trenitalia, is joining the iPhone wave with a free application in the AppStore. Created by Promptu Systems Corporation, the new app enables users to search timetables, check train punctuality, buy tickets, and change bookings — all while on-the-go. Moreover, it uses Promptu’s Network Speech Recognition (NSR) platform, allowing users to simply speak their trip details to search schedules and initiate ticket purchases…
In a nutshell, it’s one of those apps every Italian will need at some point — and eventually some tourists — and in that sense we hope to see it hitting other mobile platforms, as well.
