AT&T: No class action lawsuit for you!

Fed up with AT&T’s flaky service, inflated claims of iPhone performance or just tired of Big Blue’s logo? Well, you’re going to have to keep it to yourself. AT&T has baked into their contracts a set of terms and conditions that explicitly prohibit any AT&T customer from joining a class-action lawsuit against the carrier. The class-action ban might not be new, but it shows that Big Blue is worried about seeing droves of angry customers seeking legal recourse against the carrier.

Still, contracts which ban class-action lawsuits aren’t always enforceable. Some US states have ruled that such prohibitions allow corporations to avoid being held liable by its customer-base. If you happen to live in one of those states, rest easy in knowing that you can file all the class-action lawsuits you want against AT&T. The rest of you will just have to move. Or switch carriers. Or both.
