Frost & Sullivan

You know how smartphones and app stores are gaining momentum these days. Well, according to the new analysis from Frost & Sullivan titled “An Insight into the U.S. Smartphone Application Storefront Market,” smartphone downloads from all app stores will reach 6.67 billion in 2014! This is a total number of all apps for all platforms — including iPhone, Android, Windows Mobile, Palm, and Symbian.

Related to that, Frost & Sullivan Industry Analyst Vikrant Gandhi said that as we see more and more app stores being introduced, it will be difficult to provide enough differentiation through them.

Moreover, he notes that a single participant cannot provide all the services in the mobile content industry. Hence, app store providers need to work with multiple developers and offer them sufficient incentives for their app store initiatives…

Full press release is available from PRnewswire and you can get more details from Frost & Sullivan’s website.
