Verizon Wireless is continuing with its weekly Android app recommendations, and this time the theme is “DROID does competition.” In that sense, their choice of apps is kinda weird, to say the least — you’ll see what I’m talking about from the list below:
- Skype mobile – the idea is that you could share a victory with friends and family by calling them for free or next to nothing with Skype.
- Buddy Runner – the personal trainer app that allows users to track workouts and record routes, distances, times and pace. There’s also an option to share your achievements with the world via Facebook and Twitter. Plus, let’s not forget the audio feedback of workout progress that apparently makes it easy to improve training.
- Nintaii – The 100-level game increases “patience, perseverance and/or endurance” through a brain-twisting puzzles. The price is $2.99.
- What the Doodle!? – A $1.50 draw-guess game that pits you against other people in a real-time doodle duel.
- WoW Droid Armory – A free app that allows you to search the database for characters and add character widgets to the homescreen of your MOTO DROID smartphone.
At the end of the press release, Verizon reminds us they’re offering the Motorola Droid for $199.99 on a two-year contract…
