Nokia 6110 helps Ewan McGregor navigate the “Long Way Down” from Scotland to South Africa

Nokia 6110 Navigator Long Way Down

The hot new Nokia 6110 Navigator is now the official communications and navigation device of the “Long Way Down” reality-TV series starring Ewan McGregor. Ewan and his buddy Charley will be using the Nokia 6110 Navigator to keep them on track and in touch during their trans-continental trek.

The duo will be using their Nokia 6110 Navigator to check maps and get the GPS routing information that will guide them and their pair of BMW motorcycles from Scotland to the southern tip of Africa. And, to make sure they stay in touch with the rest of the world, they’ll be surfing the web for current events, taking pictures to send home, and phoning home about their various adventures.

Here’s to hoping Nokia fixed the GPS signal-acquisition problem that Stefan mentioned a little while ago. But, voice-guided 3D GPS navigation (pre-loaded maps, unlike the N95), 2 megapixel camera, and quad-band GSM (850/900/1800/1900Mhz) radio, the Nokia 6110 Navigator will hopefully make that “Long Way Down” just a bit shorter.
