LAMP stands for Linux, Apache, MySQL and the P can be either Perl, PHP or Python. Everything you need to run a full web server can now be installed and run on your S60 device! What does this mean in the future? How about having a computer that is nothing more than a display, keyboard, and mouse running a barebones Linux stack with a web browser. You walk up to it and connect your S60 device and now you have a full blown computer. Very powerful stuff, very experimental stuff. When people tell me projectors inside cellphones are cool and the will lead to the next wave of innovation I laugh at them. With the prices of displays dropping you’re going to see a lot of IP based panels everywhere in your environment. Combine that with Bluetooth that activates by a single touch and you’re soon going to realize the fully hyperconnected world of everything electronic having an IP address.

Thanks to Jukka for the email telling me about this, he blogged it over at the S60 blogs. Don’t forget to listen to the latest Voice of S60 episode where Phil interviews him about the mobile web server.
