So we are back on the case of those UK Mobile Network Operators – this time to take a look at two more of the big four – Orange and T-Mobile:
Orange
Orange has it’s very distinctive colour scheme, and an awful lot on-screen – it kinda overloaded my tiny brain, but perhaps that’s a matter of familiarity with the site – I’m not a subscriber so I don’t have cause to visit it regularly (and become familiar with it)! Interestingly, there isn’t a device promo, but instead lots of content and services (including their convergent broadband). So how does it take you, the readership? Like, or…..dislike?!
T-Mobile
T-Mobile has used it’s Pink and Grey colour palette, and whacked in some greens and blues for effect – for me, it’s another one that doesn’t suit, and again, I am just one humble opinion. Both T-Mobile and Orange choose not to use the full width web browser window that was available (contrast with O2 and Vodafone, here) – controlling the max width allows for a stylised site, but is this at the expense of being able to show more? Well as you can see T-Mobile managed to fit in a lot of textal links, and phone(s) promo – Nokias and Sony Ericssons in this case.
That’s the big four then – colour, layout, and promos – but the question is – who did it best?
Ben
