The lightweight battery gauge – VistaHide Battery Gauge for Windows Mobile

VistaHide Battery GaugeWe’ve seen more freeware Windows Mobile battery meter applications than candid shots of Britney Spears’ baby-maker. They’re a dime a dozen – and there’re a lot of freeware battery meters too.

But, we came across this VistaHide Battery Gauge from our friends at jkOnTheRun and it’s the first time that a freeware battery gauge application has really caught our attention. The main draw to this little piece of freeware is its ability to not draw attention.  The minimalist design makes use of as few precious pixels as possible while still giving the user an easy to read indication of the juice left in Windows Mobile smartphone’s battery.

VistaHide Battery Gauge uses a color-coded battery bar. The Red region indicates low battery, while the Green region indicates a fuller charge – and the battery bar grows shorter as it moves towards the Red region. It’s slim and it’s useful. VistaHide Battery Guage doesn’t take up real-estate on your Today screen or menu bar, and it gets the job done.
