Research and Markets: Two trillion SMS this year

textingPeople all around the world keep texting like crazy. According to Research and Markets’ latest report, over 2 trillion (2 followed by 12 zeros) messages will be sent worldwide this year, with expected revenue from text messaging to account for around $65-75 billion. However, while the overall mobile messaging traffic volumes will increase, revenues are expected to slightly dampen down messaging revenue growth, thanks to the market saturation and increasing competition. As usual, it’s the Asia-Pacific region where most of the growth will come from…

I’m sure you can guess for yourself the Research and Markets’ report “2008 Global Mobile – Data and Content Markets” doesn’t deal with SMS only.
