Reports are bounding around that the iPhone 3G is compatible and operable on AT&T’s Pay-As-You-Go (PAYG) plans. Erica Sadun of TUAW reportedly tried putting a PAYG SIM into a 3G (with data package) and the thing worked fine. The iPhone in question was activated on AT&T, but it wasn’t unlocked, jailbroken or anything else.
Interesting little problem for AT&T and Apple here if this is indeed true. Has anyone else out there tried a PAYG SIM in the iPhone 3G?
